Our Urgent Care & Minor Illness Services
These conditions can be treated by you NHS GP, however some people struggle to get appointments on time particularly post Covid and expanding due to high demands for appointments which many surgeries struggle to fulfil.
A consultation with your RPM Health clinician can be done in person or via telephone or video. Some conditions are better seen in person (such as ear infections) so when booking your appointment consider if that would be more appropriate.
Consultation fee includes the cost of private prescription if appropriate which you can take to any pharmacy.
Be aware that your pharmacy will charge you even though you may be getting free prescriptions' medication via NHS.
If a Private FIT Note is required and appropriate this will be provided free of charge.
At RPM Health Clinic we offer assessment and treatment of various urgent minor illnesses.

-
Coughs, Colds, Respiratory Tract InfectionsAffecting parts of body involved in breathing. Most commonly caused by viruses and bacteria. Although this ailment is normally caused by viruses which are self- limiting and do not require treatment with antibiotics, sometimes bacteria can be involved and if untreated more severe conditions such as pneumonia could occur.
-
Urinary Tract InfectionsAffecting the urinary tract, including your bladder (cystitis), urethra (urethritis) or kidneys (kidney infection). UTIs may be treated with antibiotics, but they're not always needed. Symptoms of urinary tract infection may include: • pain or a burning sensation when passing urine (dysuria) • increased frequency to urinate more often than usual during the night (nocturia) • urine that looks cloudy, dark or has a strong smell • needing to urinate suddenly or more urgently than usual and feeling of incomplete emptying • blood in your urine • lower tummy pain or pain in your back, just under the ribs • a high temperature, or feeling hot and shivery or a very low temperature below 36 Celsius
-
Sore Throat and TonsillitisAn acute sore throat includes symptoms of pain, scratchiness or irritation of the throat that often worsens when swallowing. The most common cause of a sore throat (pharyngitis) is a viral infection, such as a cold or the flu. However at times Strep throat (streptococcal infection), a less common type of sore throat caused by bacteria can occur, which requires treatment with antibiotics to prevent complications. Other less common causes for a chronic sore throat, which persists for over 14 days can include silent acid reflux, postnasal drip, environmental causes and even throat cancer.
-
Ear InfectionsVery common infection in children usually associated with recent or current respiratory symptom usually affecting the inner ear, whereas in adults the ear canal is most often affected. Symptoms include pain, temperature, vomiting, lack of energy, loss of hearing, discharge from the ear and/or a feeling of pressure inside the ear. Children may pull or rub on their ear, be irritable and off their food and in some cases lose their balance. The diagnosis and appropriate management are made upon the view by an otoscope which gives the view of the ear canal and inner ear.
-
Acute Skin InfectionSkin infections occur when bacteria enter broken skin surface and sometimes the deep tissue beneath the skin. Cellulitis is a common type of skin infection that causes redness, swelling, and pain in the infected area of the skin. Another common type of skin infection is a skin abscess, which is a collection of pus under the skin. Skin infections can also be caused by fungus or yeast which may cause changes to skin, hair or nails and may not caused any discomfort.
